Current activities

I am currently affiliated with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IPA) in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In summer 2021, i participate in the CIRRUS-HL aircraft campaign, which employs the German High Alitute and LOng range (HALO) research aircraft to sample cirrus clouds and contrails at mid and high latitudes in Europe. There we want to advance our understanding about the radiative, chemical and climate impact of cirrus clouds, especially in the sensitive Arctic region. Several drivers associated with anthropogenic emissions and climate change affect the occurrence and appearcance of these ice clouds in the upper troposphere and sometimes lowermost stratosphere.
